So, what are our top ten tips to see success during Prime Day 2023?
1. Choose the correct product to highlight
Not all products are Prime Day-worthy. Review your product catalog and determine which items will be the most popular during the event. Prime Day is a great time to promote your top-selling products and items that are Prime-eligible and have a competitive price.
2. Listings need to be PERFECT
Your product listing is the foundation of your Prime Day success. Make sure all of your listings are complete and optimized before the event starts. This includes writing compelling product titles and descriptions, adding high-quality images, and choosing the right keywords.
3. Fix suppressed or inactive listings
If you have any listing issues, now is the time to fix them! Inactive or suppressed listings will not be eligible for Prime Day promotions, so make sure all of your listings are active and compliant with Amazon’s policies.
4. Budget your ads appropriately
Advertising is one of the best ways to reach Prime Day shoppers, but it can also be one of the most expensive. Make sure you have a well-thought-out advertising plan and budget for Prime Day. Be aware that Amazon ad prices will see an increase on Prime Day because other sellers will increase their bids on the most competitive keywords. Make sure to keep an eye on your advertising at all times. Additionally, adopt a flexible PPC strategy but be willing to pivot to try and capture Prime Day traffic. Stay tuned as we will be sharing more Amazon advertising tips in the weeks leading up to Prime Day 2023.
5. Use Amazon Coupons
Consumers are looking for a deal during Prime Day. Amazon Coupons are a great way to promote your products and offers on Prime Day. Be sure to create Prime Day-specific coupons for your products and include them in your ads and email marketing campaigns.
6. Create a buzz on social media
Prime Day is the perfect time to promote your business on social media. Use Prime Day hashtags, run social media ads, and partner with influencers to generate excitement about your products.
7. Have an FBM strategy
What happens if your products don’t make it to Amazon before Prime Day? Having a pure FBM (Fulfilled By Merchant) strategy will not help a ton during Prime Day, simply because it is Prime Day. But, if your products are prime eligible, it makes sense to self-fulfill in this situation. Additionally, FBM is a great backup plan if you go out of stock of your FBA products during the event.
8. Have an intelligent pricing strategy
Pricing your products competitively will increase your visibility on Prime Day. You may notice that your competitors have slashed their prices to try to grab the first spots of search, and they’re likely paying a lot for those spots as well. Brands that change their prices, even just a dollar, can see a significant change in their sales.
9. Have a returns plan ready
A fact of life as an Amazon seller is the more sales you get, the more returns you get. Having a solid return strategy in place will help your business run smoother before, during, and after Prime Day 2023. Make sure you have the people and resources to complete returns in a timely manner to avoid hurting your ranking. Bonus: use that return information to understand areas of improvement for your product and product listings!
10. Speaking of reviews, ask for them
Getting reviews on your product is important every day. Thus, when sales are inflated due to Prime Day, so is the opportunity to receive reviews. In the Amazon-compliant way, ask for reviews to help your business! We have tons of tool suggestions to assist you with this.
